Disaster Rebuilding Assistance Program
In response to recent disasters around the state, Governor Newsom proposed a Disaster Rebuilding Assistance Program to expand access to construction financing for disaster-impacted homeowners. California's Fiscal Year 2026-27 State Budget officially allocated funds for the program to CalHFA, which will launch in the coming months. The $100 million program will be providing mortgage lending tools to support eligible California homeowners looking to rebuild homes that were damaged or destroyed by a qualified disaster, such as the 2025 L.A. Wildfires.
